Special Attacks

Neutral B - Suspicion

Octodad has a meter with an eye ball above his health bar, like Little Mac’s, that reads “Suspicion.” As Octodad attacks opponents, with each successful hit his suspicion meter slowly grows the more he dishes out attacks, and especially if he KO’s opponents. When the meter is full, press B to make Octodad go into panic mode! In panic mode Octodad’s speed and jumping abilities are increased tremendously so he can avoid suspicion. The bar slowly drains and when it hits zero Octodad goes back to his regular speed and jumping abilities.

Side B - Octo-Toss

Octodad reaches down and pulls out a vase, press any button to throw the vase. You can aim where to throw the vase, much like throwing a regular item, a string of dots much like one’s indicating people looking at Octodad in Dadliest Catch will appear to indicate where the vase will be thrown. The vase breaks on contact and deals 5% DMG, however on rare occasions the vase will have a dynamite strapped to it and it will deal an explosive effect, much like a bob-omb, when it makes contact. On some occasions the vase breaking can also deal a dizzy effect, like being hit with a deku nut, and throwing a vase raises Octodad’s suspicion meter.

Up B - Squid Launch

Octodad revs his tentacles up and launches himself upward. The move controls much like Lucario’s up special, but has a special chargeable trait to it. Hold up B to make Octodad rev his tentacles up more (much like his shark escape level in Dadliest Catch), the longer you hold B the further he travels. Does no DMG to opponents, but pushes opponents away.

Down B - No one suspects a thing!

Octodad performs a casual stance, nobody would attack a regular human. If an opponent attacks Octodad while he is posing (for about a second) he freaks out and dodges the attack (So attack goes through him, projectiles fly by him, but can’t dodge final smashes) and frantically counter flails his tentacles to attack the opponent. Counter deals 12% DMG and knockback, but deals less DMG if he is in panic mode.

Final Smash - Chef Fujimoto

Octodad panics as Chef Fujimoto appears behind him, yelling “Octopuuuuuuuuuussss!!” and he runs away. You now control Chef Fujimoto wherever he stands, however you can’t move him from his spot. Chef can throw butcher knives, so aim at opponents and throw knives. Chef throws a string of 5 quick moving knives forward wherever you aim (indicated with a line of white dots) and these knives deal 5% DMG each, with the last dealing the most knockback. The knives also can somehow travel through walls and platforms. You control Chef for 10 seconds before he throws knives in all directions and disappears, yelling “I’ll find you, Octopus!” as he vanishes. Octodad then plops down where Chef was and wipes sweat off his head, nobody suspects a thing.
