Neutral B: Galatic Tornado
Rufus will spin like a top, sucking his opponent toward him (3% per hit). He will then finish off by throwing a palm strike toward the opponent, launching them (9%). The EX Special version, he cannot move, but inflicts more damage (17%).
Side B: Messiah Kick
This move is a flying kick with a long range (5%) that can be followed up with three different attacks, depending on what button is pressed when followed up. If B is pressed, Rufus will follow up with a combo backflip which has the ability to Armor Break (7%); if Side B is pressed, Rufus will follow up with a sweep (10%); if Up B is pressed, Rufus will follow up with an over-head kick (14%). The EX version does more damage (18%).
Up B: Snake Strike
Rufus leaps up into the air and releases a flurry of jabs (13%). How high he jumps and how many times he hits the opponent depends on the power of the button pressed. The EX version jumps very high and does more damage (17%).
Down B: Focus Attack
Rufus does a kick that stuns the opponent, when used as a counter or when charged at least 2/3 to maximum. While Rufus's charging, he has Super Armor. The charging animation can also be interrupted by a crouch. Deals 9%-15%.
Final Smash 1: Space Opera Symphony
Rufus will say "America sheds a tear!" and launch a flurry of punches and kicks while shouting the attack's name (20%). If this combo connects correctly, Rufus's last kick will launch his opponent into the air (2%), and he throws an upward double-handed palmstrike at their back as they fall (59%).
Final Smash 2: Big Bag Typhoon
Rufus yells "Transform!" and spins 360 degrees at an extremely high speed, delivering lightning-fast palm strikes at the same time. Upon the combo's end, he tops it off by getting into some sort of pose ("Aiee! I'm sexy!") (100%).
Rufus is a loudmouthed master of Kung-Fu, hailing from the U.S. Believing himself to be the strongest in America, he develops a personal hatred for Ken Masters, who carries that title officially. Often seen riding his motorcycle with his girlfriend, Candy (an attractive but not very bright, brunnette woman with a notably tacky way of dress who met Rufus while bailing on a diner check; he beat up the waiter for her), who seems to adore him and agree with his beliefs. He is very hasty and impatient, constantly jumping to conclusions to reach a goal, which often results in him sacrificing accuracy for speed.
Rival 1: Bob
Rufus somehow mistakes Bob for Ken who turned fat and comments about why he is not Ken instead of Bob.
Rival 2: Ken
This is a rivalry of Rufus' design; angered that Ken, instead of himself, is recognized as the greatest karate martial artist in the U.S., Rufus sets out to confront him. Ken, for his part, finds Rufus' bullishness amusing and enjoys fighting him.
Role in Story Mode
He debuts in The Desert where Rufus (In his motobike) getting attacked by both Ride Boarski and Dollface under El Emmisario's Command.
- Rufus is similiar and often compared to Bob from the Tekken series.
- They are both overweight American fighters who are amazingly fast for their sizes, they both developed their own fighting styles and they both have blond hair, their personalities are different though as Rufus is loud-mouthed, obnoxious and impatient, a contrast to the more calm, serious and focused Bob, whose weight gain was deliberate.
